Fundraising

The cost of running the Group is fully funded by our own fundraising activities such as supermarket collections, grant requests, car boot sales, stalls at various events such as the Coate Water Dragon Boat Race, Charity golf matches, & those organised by Group members & friends including sponsored events.

If you are able to help and support at any of these events and activities, offer prizes for organised events, help on collection days at supermarkets etc. it would be very much appreciated.

Should you want to organise your own event or charity collection for us and need help or equipment we will be only too pleased to support you.

PARKIES PALS JUMPERS – SKYDIVE FUNDRAISER SEPTEMBER 17TH

Kerry is launching this on World Parkinson’s Day – the big fundraiser of the year for Parkies Pals; where 5 crazy friends will be jumping out of a plane to raise awareness and funds. My dear friend Ann Finlay and 4 other members of her gym and workplace have formed the Parkies Pals Jumpers.
I would have done but didn’t pass the medical so will be ground crew support with Sarah Kill and anyone else who fancies a trip to Headcorn Aerodrome near Maidstone, on 17th Sept 2022.

Please find the link below to the JustGiving page for the skydiving team who are jumping out of a plane on our behalf in September. Kerry will be changing the photo once they have a group image.

Dee Vaughan – Couch to 5k

Hi family and friends, most of you know that Graham and I are living with the horrible condition that is called Parkinson’s Disease. You may not know that it is progressive and that it robs sufferers of control over movement, ability to walk and even their voice.

It can be slow or it can be sudden, it can come on at any age.

Depression, anxiety, confusion and often dementia are also part of the future we can look forward to.

This is a cruel condition that affects thousands of people and their families.

Please help us by donating what you can to Parkinson’s UK. Which will go towards research into finding a cure for this miserable disease.

My challenge is to do the Couch to 5K!!! I am no athlete and I’m not fit. I couldn’t jump out of an aeroplane, or climb a mountain but I’m going to do this!!!! (With your help) It should take me 9 weeks. Fingers crossed.
